The Effects of Islamic Religion on Maintaining the Territorial Integrity
(Part 54)
The Continuation of the Matter:
The History and Islamic Civilization
the Prophet of Islam (peace be upon him) as the founder of this civilization took many measures to provide a suitable platform for the establishment of this civilization. The most important factor in the formation of any civilization is to create a calm atmosphere with security and comfort. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sought to create a peaceful environment for Muslims since the beginning of his invitation in Mecca.
The prophet Muhammad peace be up him took fundamental measures in the early stage (civil period) of establishing Islam, some of them included, the emigration of a group of Muslims to Abyssinia to be safe from the polytheists of Mecca, to make a pact with the people of Medina in the first and second Aqaba, emigrate to Medina and set up an Islamic government, various political pacts and the expeditions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The continuation of that movement required a comprehensive law so that all people, both Muslims and non-Muslims, could live together based on those criteria. However, the religion of Islam and the verses of the Qur’an were a comprehensive law for Muslims; But there were also Muslims, the Jews and the pagans of Medina, who signed the General Treaty of Medina as the first constitution, meanwhile other various groups living in and around Medina signed the constitution as well. The true sense of constitution meant that all people were equal before the law, so that one’s behavior performance considered a role model for everyone.
The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also created the spirit of cooperation and brotherhood between Mohajeerin and Ansar , which is one of the important components of the formation of any civilization, in the Islamic society. By taking those smart measures and prophet (saw) abled chairmanship, the foundations of civilization were founded, which later developed and expanded significantly during the time of the righteous caliphs and reached its peak of glory in the 4th and 5th centuries AH.
