Praise be to Allah, the Almighty, whose obedience brings nearness, thanksgiving and brings more blessings. Every soul that descends is a prolongation of life, and when it rises, it is a joy to the soul. Therefore, there are two blessings in every soul, and gratitude is obligatory for every blessing. The rain of His countless mercy has reached everyone, and the river of His unfailing blessings has spread everywhere. The veil of honor of the servants has not been torn by gross sin, and the duty of sustenance has not been taken by wrongdoing.
The greatest blessing of God Almighty after faith is getting knowledge, because knowledge is the legacy of the prophets (peace be upon them) and scholars are their rightful heirs. The duty of the prophets (peace be upon them) was to call and warn the Muslims to learn knowledge so that they can fulfill the task of building the hereafter and the present with unity and brotherhood.
The greatest need of the Islamic society in the present era, especially in the face of the cultural invasion of the West, is unity and solidarity in all levels of the society and nation. One of the ways to create unity is undoubtedly to follow the true and great schools of thought of the Islamic land. Imitating the schools certainly means following the Islamic culture, which is mature, ancient, and has a long and glorious history. However, imitating and following is accepting the words of others without knowing the reason for it. Imitating in the principles of religion is not permissible according to the majority of jurists, and the noble jurists consider it obligatory for the common people and forbidden for mujtahids.
The differences of opinion of the jurists in the branches have established and justified reasons, and It is not a factor of division and disunity among Muslims. Following self-made groups are generally the main factor of differences, extremism, innovations and defeat against the enemies of the Islamic land. This is where imitating the true religions, due to the diversity of opinions and the general public’s preoccupation with social affairs, brings about unity, coherency and preservation of the important heritage of Islam. The valuable heritage of Islamic jurisprudence has the ability to produce a law better than the statutory law and can make Muslims independent of human-made laws.
Imitating the true religions of Islam is the guarantee of unity, integrity and progress of the Islamic Ummah, and in new jurisprudential issues that require ijtihad, it paves the way for a return to the glorious and golden days of the past eras with collective Ijtihad and the use of contemporary jurisprudence and the purposes of the Sharia. Sectarianism and sectarian differences, in addition to backwardness, block the way to the main position of the Ummah (sovereignty in the world) which is achieved through unity.
What the Islamic world requires in the current conditions after unity, is the needs of religious legislation and is the need of legal regulations in order to get rid of western human made rules and regulations. Allah, the Almighty sent His Holy Book, (the Holy Quran), with His Noble Prophet to save people from the errors in which they were trapped and to guide everyone to the right path through Quran and Sunnah. Today, nations have again deviated from this straight path of guidance to imperfect human legal regulations; thinking that religious laws do not respond to the complex conditions of current human societies. In fact, the laws of the revealed religion of Islam are intended to prevent the misuse of the property and blood of the oppressed people by the rulers and powerful people who do not pay attention to such individuals and do not consider it to be responsive to their desires. Islamic Sects, especially the Hanafi school, which has a long history of legislation for about a thousand years for the Abbasid and Ottoman Caliphates, are good evidence that laws of the Islamic jurisprudence are capable of governing multi-national societies, political systems, and judicial systems well.
