The Un-Successful Plan to Partition Afghanistan

Foreign Interferences in the Plan of Separatism
(Governments and Organizations)
(Part 15)
The Current Situation for Disintegration
It seemed that the issue of disintegration was not much in line with the situation of Afghanistan at that time. By considering the situation, the foreigners thought that the possibility of creating a permanent united Afghanistan, seemed a weak idea. This guess was somewhat correct; Because their puppet government was extremely weak and the heroes of the Islamic Emirate were not willing to deal with the occupiers and their mercenaries and create a system called “National Unity.” It was in this phase that the Westerns and Western politicians raised the issue of disintegration Afghanistan to solve the strategic challenges.
In late 2001, with the beginning of foreign military and intelligence interference in Afghanistan, the country’s control was divided between the two rival factions of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the mercenaries of the North (Northern Alliance) with the support of foreign forces, mostly consisting of northern Afghanistan. considering the situation, ignorant people came to believe that Afghanistan was practically made up of two nations: the northwestern half of Pashtunistan, which is located in the south; and a multi-ethnic confederation located in the north. Of course, a number of Western thinkers also reinforced this belief that it will be paraphrased later on.
The Possible Reasons for the US Withdrawal to Partition Afghanistan
1) One of the possible reasons for the non-disintegration of Afghanistan was probably Pakistan’s dissatisfaction, which is the main partner of the United States in the region. And that country feared the unity of all Pashtuns around the Durand Line and its potentials threat for Pakistan.
2) General dissatisfaction of the countries of the region with the disintegration of Afghanistan.
3) The United States was concerned about the return of areas under the control of the Islamic Emirate to a state before 9/11, in which all Muslims, tired of US oppression, would gather around the world and threaten Washington’s interests.
4) The power and awe of the forces of the Islamic Emirate, which were in motion throughout Afghanistan and operated in all areas, and whose many testimonies were never prevented, made the dissidents disappointed with this action.
5) Patriotism of the Afghan people.
6) Extensive corruption of the dominant ruling forces in the north of the country.
7) Division of power (ministries) in terms of ethnicities without considering meritocracy and capability.
8) Lack of unanimous agreement among the great leaders of the republic for various reasons.
9) The United States thought that the Islamic Emirate would be a threat to its neighboring countries.
10) Islam religious of people protected the homeland from disintegration.
11) The change in the global political situation, especially the emergence of new powers such as China, Russia and India.
12) The American notorious and aggressive politics, worldwide.
13) Creating a humanitarian catastrophe on both sides of the disintegrated regions such as Pakistan and India.
14) Excessive interference from neighboring countries and manipulating Afghanistan.
In addition to the above reasons, there could be economic, political, security, reasons that the United States did not dare to divide Afghanistan into north and south.
A number of irrational elements welcomed the idea of disintegration of Afghanistan; But their political and social influence was so petty that not only they could not disintegrate our beloved country but also lost their reputation got hatred in the public eyes. If this homeland had been disbanded at the will of the irrational people and international oppressors, there would be no sign of present-day Afghanistan today, and we should have searched for its name in history books.
Ignorant and hare-brained people thought that after the disintegration of Afghanistan, they would be satisfied with the rule of North Pashtunistan and thought that they could form an independent country by forming a sustainable and prosperous Islamic confederation by attracting foreign investors across the northern Pashtun border. For the southern country, with the return and domination of the Islamic Emirate, they imagined the era of the First Emirate and the harsh economic austerity of that time, before the US invasion of 9/11. On these assumptions, with the domination of the Mujahidin of the Islamic Emirate over the whole country, the line was refuted and it was proved that the Mujahidin, these righteous people of the country, despite the cessation of international aid, is developing the whole country, and the Superior Governance of the Islamic Emirate came to realty.
