A Brief Introduction About “Khorasan”

Seeking to Capture Khorasan
Based on historical and geographical data, Khorasan, is considered as a political region which after Islam underwent through lots of ups and downs in term of expansions. It mainly covered vast areas in the Northeast of Iran, some parts of Central Asian countries, and some areas in the North and Northwest of Afghanistan, but it did not cover the South part of our country, Afghanistan. Due to powerful people’s attacks, sometimes Sistan, Mesopotamia, Kabulistan and Zabulistan were also combined as a single territory, but other times not; But based on historic proofs, Khorasan was a separated region. Herat and Neishabur were undoubtedly the main cities of Khorasan. The first government which was formed in Khorasan was related to Taherians dynasty, which was undoubtedly formed in old Khorasan, the present-day Herat. According to historical documents, after Taherian dynasty, the Sistani Saffarians, Mesopotamia Samani, the Ghaznavids, the Ghorians, the Khwarezmshahs, the Seljuks, and others, had military invasion to Khorasan.
Referring to the famous work of Saifi Heravi, by the name of “History of Herat in the 13th century,” equals 720 AH, the name of“Afghanistan” is one of the oldest names in this borderland. It worth mentioning that Saifi Herawi, the author of the above book was serving in the government of Ale-Kurt. In the above book, by referring to the Mughal attack, it is written: “Oljaitoon Khan, the Mongul ruler, left Herat region to the furthest point of Afghanistan soil and Amoy Sea, unoccupied (preserved) for Sultan Ghiyasuddin, from Kort Dyansty” (Ghobar 1368 No, 309).
Therefore, the claimants of Khorasan (Title) are the same separatists who want to separate the South and the North of Afghanistan and are somehow trying to divide our country in two separate parts with the plan of conspiracy for a Federal Government. By expressing baseless various excuses, they got into distance from the name of Afghanistan, which they think it symbolizes one ethnic only; While the Afghan historian (Saifi Heravi) clearly wrote (mentioned) the name of Afghanistan in the book of the history of Herat in the 7th century of Hijri. This writing proves that Afghanistan was well-known in this region before the 7th century, which he obviously mentioned.
Prejudice towards the name of the country comes from
Those are narrow-minded, unwise and obsessive people who have discrimination attitude towards the name of our country (Afghanistan) and they think that changing the name of the country or dividing it, can bring them prosperity and happiness. All the ethnic groups of the country in the far or distant course of history of Afghanistan, have been in possession of the power or ruled this country in some way. It has been proven that there was no special achievement or much difference between the majority or minority; But occasionally, some of the rulers even caused the country to lag behind.
Khorasan seeking people must know that this country cannot be divided. The brave and pious youths of this country from East to West and from North to South, as their heroic fathers, always defend the name, religion, culture and territorial integrity of this country bravely. The divisive slogans of these hypocrites cannot put these Muslim ethnicities into division.
