The Sixth Speech: War Against the Holy Qur’an
The Continuation
Defending Islam is the duty of every Muslim, just the same way as our people stood against Western military invasions and, with divine assistance, and defeated them. Today, the time has come to defend Muslim youth against the spread of doubts. This is a crucial responsibility of leaders and scholars, who must, with patience and understanding of the circumstances, stop those attacks. The West has realized that it can no longer govern this religious nation through force and plunder its wealth. So now it spreads doubts to erode people’s beliefs, the very beliefs that stand as a barrier to cultural invasion.
Westerns, to give their doubts in an intellectual and philosophical appearance, try to present their toxic ideas under the banner of religious reform and modernist thinking. Behind this hegemony, they plot against Islamic culture, which remains a major obstacle to its control over Muslim societies, and attempts to distort this culture in the eyes of the youth. In the past, universities were centers for promoting such doubt-spreading efforts against Islam and the Islamic system, aiming to lead educated youth into questioning and abandoning their faith and values. To some extent, they succeeded and won over many educated young people.
Today, the borders of our country are protected by armed forces from the foreign invasions, and no one dares to step foot on our land. Now is the time to protect the minds of our youth from the intellectual invasions of Islam’s enemies. The current era is one of intellectual jihad, where we must defend the pure and rational religious teachings from distortions and superstitions. Devout scholars, just as in armed jihad, are now at the frontlines of this intellectual battle.
The West’s intellectual and cultural assault, through casting doubts, targets the very foundation of Islam, the Qur’an, and the core principles and essentials of the faith. They pay less attention to the secondary issues of religion, knowing well that if the foundational beliefs of Muslims are weakened by doubts, the rest of the religion will lose its significance.
This is where complete adherence to religion, faith, and Islamic culture becomes vital for the concerned believers, who must defend their sacred values with an understanding of current conditions. Muslims, recognizing the true face of their deceitful and ever-scheming enemies, must think more about unity and common ground to resist the destruction of their religion, ethics, culture, and both material and spiritual wealth.
