The Connection Between Faith and Patriotism

Allah Almighty has created humans with diverse natures. If this variety of nature did not exist in human nature, every human being would want the most productive and prosperous countries. And if there were no love for the homeland, areas with bad weather would be completely destroyed and abandoned; because no one would settle there and everyone would go to better areas, and this would require the abandonment and destruction of distant settlements and villages, as well as wasting many benefits, because there are many mines and natural resources in those places that are not found in big cities and human society needs them. For this reason, Allah, The Almighty has placed love for the homeland in the hearts of people, so that everyone prefers his homeland to other prosperous areas, even if his benefit and livelihood are outside his homeland.

 The importance of a homeland is to symbolize the nation’s identity, the history of a country, civilization and culture. A country is the source of pride for its citizens, and it represents their duties towards their homeland which is to preserve, defend, and respect it, while observing the laws. By considering the above criterion, the homeland gives us the right to live an honorable life inside and outside our country with dignity and freedom by promoting loyalty in all areas. God forbidden, if something bad happens to the homeland, all patriotic and Muslim citizens, as members of one family, stand together to prove their love for the homeland by any means, even by sacrificing their lives and properties. In normal circumstances, the least that citizens can do for their country is to pay attention to individual and social development in all levels, support the legitimate government, maintaining its facilities, observing its cleanliness and study its history, recognize and preserve its useful culture.

Love for the homeland cannot be only expressed by words and slogans, but the actions of citizens show their true belonging to the pure soil of their homeland. As active human beings, understanding the scale of our role in the growth and progress of our country, can also create a sense of love for the homeland in others, and they can play their part and serve the country as well. In addition to the aforesaid factors, athletes, national businessmen, school students, mainly colleges and universities, play a practical and important role in this regard. Because they are studying in various fields, and striving to acquire knowledge and honor, for the purpose of growing their country. They also serve their homeland by carrying out various activities, conducting scientific research that elevates the name of the homeland worldwide, and practically express and prove their attachment and love for the homeland.
