Imitation in The Present Age

(Part 37)
The Eighth Topic: The Importance of Imitation
The Continuation:
There is no doubt that Muslims are not the only people on this earth claiming global leadership and wanting everyone to follow their programs. Muslims, with their glorious past, led world civilization for over a thousand years, but the past alone is not enough. When the noble religion of Islam was revealed, the first verses of the Holy Quran commanded learning, education, and progress under the guidance of Allah Almighty. The beloved Prophet (peace be upon him) presented a program for the primitive Arab society and the world that was unparalleled. After the expansion of Islamic lands and with the support of the Islamic government, the jurists (fuqaha) designed jurisprudential laws adapted to the context of their time and place. These laws are still used by Muslims around the world today. However, for centuries, Islamic lands have been asleep in negligence, and no significant collective action has been taken to regain their former status. In fact, the actions of some extremist sects have further degraded the status of Muslims. Therefore, everyone, regardless of their different affiliations, must unite and work together with continuous effort to restore the original honor and dignity of Muslims. This is not a task that can be achieved by any single group or ideological movement alone.
The Second Speech: Preserving Islamic Heritage
Compensating for backwardness and benefiting from Western science and knowledge can also have harmful consequences, which require careful attention from scholars and Islamic governments. Preserving the precious Islamic heritage in a society depends on the support of sincere scholars, an aware nation, and a true Islamic government. One of the greatest challenges in preserving Islamic culture and values is facing the cultural invasion of the West. Western culture, through various deceptive methods, attempts to impose its values on Islamic societies. This type of invasion is far more powerful and enduring than military warfare.

The cultural invasion in our country has a long history, starting from the era of classical colonialism, such as the unveiling of women during the reign of King Amanullah Khan, continuing until the fall of the communist regime in Afghanistan. This relentless and ongoing invasion has led to the spread of communism, secularism, sectarianism and conflict, alcohol and drug addiction, immorality, various forms of corruption, secular tendencies, family disintegration, and more. Blind imitation of Western culture equates to accepting foreign domination and abandoning Islamic values.
