The Un-Successful Plan to Partition Afghanistan

 (Part 30)

Parties and their Effects Towards Disintegration

Parties usually refers to certain organizations that compete with each other in democratic systems.

Countries have four common elements:

  1. An organization must be permanent and durable to continue its organizational life, even in the absence of its founders.
  • It must have extensive local branches across the country.
  • Its leaders must be determined to take power not only willing to directly participate in political issues but also influencing the way power is implemented.
  • Must be determined to expand their position in the society and try to increase the number of their voters and supporters.

Leaders and key people of parties are more like political businessmen, who after attracting people’s votes for various reasons, try to sell the votes to rivals or use the votes for their political and economic goals.   (Ayoubi 1382, No. 37-44)

Parties are classified and separated by various criteria.  Sometimes, parties are separated based on ideology, for instance, left-wing and right-wing.  By this measure, a spectrum of parties is created, in which from right to left they may be fascist, conservative, liberal, socialist or communist.  But this division belongs to the second half of the 19th century to the end of the first half of the 20th century.  Today, new political issues such as environment, animal rights, feminism, etc. have emerged in the West, and naturally, those issues are also influential in the formation of parties or in the content of their ideology. therefore, it is no longer easy to say that only declaring conservatism or socialism is enough to attract people to a party.  In fact, parties should clarify their positions with issues such as the environment and animal rights, etc., so that citizens can decide whether they want to become their members or not.
